Every firearm you buy online has to ship to a licensed dealer (FFL) near you. Pick your state below to see licensed dealers in your city โ€” verified Trigger Transfers partners are listed first.

Find an FFL dealer near you

Or search the directory by ZIP code.

How the transfer works

  1. Buy the firearm on Guns.com.
  2. Pick a local FFL dealer and call to confirm they'll accept the transfer and what they charge.
  3. Give the seller the dealer's info; the dealer sends the seller a copy of their license.
  4. The seller ships to the dealer, and the dealer lets you know when it arrives.
  5. Bring your ID, fill out ATF Form 4473, pass the background check, and take it home.

Common questions

Does a gun bought on Guns.com have to go to an FFL?

Almost always. Federal law requires a gun sold to a buyer in another state to go through a licensed dealer, and nearly every online seller ships only to an FFL, who runs your background check before you take it home.

How do I pick an FFL?

Choose a dealer close to you, call to confirm they accept transfers and ask their fee, then give the seller the dealer's name and license info at checkout. Most dealers email their license copy straight to the seller.

What does an FFL transfer cost?

Each dealer sets their own fee. Call ahead โ€” prices vary by shop and by item type.

What do I bring to pick it up?

A valid government photo ID with your current address. The dealer has you fill out ATF Form 4473 and runs the background check, and any state-specific rules apply.
